So I have this new routine of waking up early, running with my pup a few miles, biking to the Kailua Town coffee shop to use the internet, and then heading to the beach. I’m all about the free these days- free exercise, free water, free internet, free fun. Summer gives teachers free time! It’s tempting to do stuff and usually doing stuff requires spending money. WHICH I’m trying to save. So, again, with the free stuff…
As I mentioned yesterday, I have a few things I want to get caught up on this summer. Just as I have my students do at the end of the year, I also have summer goals I wish to accomplish. I wouldn't normally share them with the universe (and by all means, there are a few that I didn't list), but posting them on my blog will help hold me accountable for my professional growth. Not to mention, keeping me busy from spending money!
So with this free time I have, I will spend it meaningfully- with a little relaxation time in the mix as well (that's a "must-do"!)
Here goes:
- Work robotics camp… (check!)
- Organize my classroom library
- Create a new layout for my classroom
- Make a new theme for my room (polka dots? I think yes!)
- Read as many instructional texts as I can
- Work summer school
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle!!
And who says teachers don't have to work over the summer?
